iPads Galore

Well, galore might not be the right word. We have 1 iPad for our class. Learning how to use this effectively has been a challenge for me. I love my iPad but learning how to use it effectively for 20 students is a challenge.

This week, I have been at the VSTE (Virginia Society for Technology in Education) conference in Roanoke, VA. I have gone to a few sessions about iPads in the classroom, but mostly they have talked about situations where there is an iPad for each student.

One thing that I went away with was the use of the app Dragon.

This app seemed like a great fit for my students and our classroom. They are able to dictate their written work to the app. I am so excited to go back to my classroom and try this out with my kiddos.

Right now, we are working on our only  written Book Report of the year. Some of my students are very hesitant to write; there is a lot of negative feelings surrounding it. I plan on introducing this to them next week which I hope will increase their excitement for their book report.

More to come on this as the kiddos get started with it!
